I HAVE A RESERVE

Poppy - Springer Spaniel - 2 years 5 months - Female

Meet the lovely Poppy, a sweet girly on the lookout for the perfect home to call her own. When Poppy first arrived at the centre, she was unsure of a lot of things, having not experienced an awful lot in the past. Because of this, it took Poppy a little while to settle into her new surroundings and to trust us, but with a lot of patience her wonderful personality has truly began to shine.

While Poppy can still find new experiences and meeting new people a little overwhelming, she has progressed massively in her time with us. This little one has charmed just about everyone here at the centre – humans and dogs alike with her mischievous ways. Poppy has never-ending energy and the most exuberant personality and will quite literally run rings around you when going for a walk because she just finds getting out and about so exciting.

Although Poppy’s confidence has improved massively during her stay, she does still need a lot of help and support from the humans around her. She always likes to check in a make sure that she’s doing okay, and so would need a family who can offer lots of patience to help her deal with some of her anxieties when experiencing new things. Poppy would also benefit from living in a home where she has company quite a lot of the time. As much as she does love zooming around and exploring, and would need an active family because of this, she is a snuggle-bug at heart, and would love to be around her favourite humans as much as she can. Poppy’s new family would also need to appreciate that while she does need a lot of physical exercise, Poppy is a very intelligent girl and would love to keep her brain busy as well as her body.

We would recommend that Poppy lives in a home with children aged 10 years and older who have experience with high energy, bouncy dogs and can appreciate that Poppy may need some time to herself when things get a bit overwhelming. She could also potentially live with a confident dog who can guide her through life in her new home, and who is happy around excitable dogs pending a successful introduction here at the centre. For now, we would advise that Poppy’s new home doesn’t have cats.
