What age should be an animal be microchipped? Dogs can be microchipped at any age but it is more comfortable at around 8 weeks old. The law states that all puppies should be chipped and registered by the time they are 8 weeks old. Cats can be microchipped at 9 weeks old. Expand It is compulsory for dogs to be micropchipped in the UK, and it is advised that all pets should be chipped.
Who will look after my pet if I become ill? Expand In case you need to go to hospital, you should have an emergency pet carer organised. Use our emergency pet carer form and display at your home so people know who to contact if needed.
