What should I do if I find a stray animal?

Visit our 'Stray animals' page for more information.

If the stray animal is in immediate danger or obstructing traffic, please call the police on 101 or Highways England on  0300 123 5000.

Otherwise, please refer to our 'Stray animals' page for advice on how to deal with the situation.

I have found injured wildlife in my garden, what should I do?

Please refer to the National RSPCA advice pages.

Alternatively, you can report this to the 24-hour National cruelty line on 0300 1234 999 or to the South Yorkshire Animal Centre on 01302 719790, who will adivse you on what action to take.

Do you offer financial help with vet bills?

We offer a contribution towards vet bills to those on benefits.

To help ensure that you can look after your pet, Welfare Assistance Vouchers are valid at certain vets. With these vouchers, we’ll contribute the first £15 of your vet bill to help to keep your pet healthy. See the 'Apply for assistance' page.

How do I rehome my pet?

If you wish to rehome your pet, please contact the Centre.

Unfortunately from time to time, we realise rehoming your pet may be the only option. Although we have limited space, we are able to accept some animals from members of the public. For more information, please contact the Centre on 01302 719790.

What age should be an animal be microchipped?

Dogs can be microchipped at any age but it is more comfortable at around 8 week. The law states all puppies should be chipped and registered by 8 week.  Cats can microchipped at 9 weeks.

It is compulsory for dogs to be micropchipped in the UK and it is advised all pets should be chipped.
