Pupils from Crookesbroom Primary Academy, a local school have been working with us to develop a Dog Sensory Garden at the Animal Centre.

The pupils have worked really hard over the past few weeks to design and plan the garden and today they were able to put their plans in to practice.

Local businesses (Polypipe, Castle Park Rugby Club and HMP Hatfield) all played their part in supporting the children's plans and donated resources, which the children had requested on behalf of the dogs.

The morning has been filled with a lot of laughter, hard work and soil, but the garden has now completed its first phase, all thanks to the pupils and staff of the school.

We are looking forward to working with the children again, to develop the garden further for the enjoyment and enrichment of the rescue dogs at the Centre.
