RSPCA Bawtry shop wins national award!

One of our RSPCA Doncaster, Rotherham and District Branch’s charity shops has been awarded first place in a national Christmas window display competition and we are absolutely over the moon!

The team at Bawtry shop designed the window display, which features a giant star covered wreath made from donated and recycled materials, to raise awareness of the local charity’s work. Each of the hand cut stars adorning the wreath represents an animal which has been re-homed through our RSPCA South Yorkshire Animal Centre this year, totalling over 900.

Thanks to both donators and customers whose ongoing support helps to fund the Animal Centre’s vital work in successfully rehabilitating and re-homing local animals in need.

The display has been exceptionally well received by both our customers and local community and has given us the opportunity to talk about the work the we carry out. For it to have also been recognised nationally, alongside some other incredible entries, is the icing on the cake.

Acopia Group, who ran the competition, have said, “A fabulous window and wonderful idea behind it! We loved it!”. They have also gone on to say how they were impressed that the display was made using all recycled materials including paper from damaged books, an old hula hoop and donated card.
