Much like the rest of the country, we were saddened to hear the news of a second nationwide lockdown. Our funding streams took a major hit in the spring, losing 95% of our income. With our shops now unable to trade, the news that this income stream will disappear for a second time is devastating.

However, this does not mean the hard work of our team stops; there are still animals of all shapes and sizes that need caring for. In order to continue to provide the best possible care to our residents, we will continue to adapt to the changing situation.

Tommy came to the centre in September after being brought in by one of our national colleagues. He was in a terrible state. It was unclear what effect the severe malnourishment would have on his body but he is making a steady recovery so far. Despite being so poorly treated in life, Tommy is a happy little soul who loves a fuss, cuddle and his extra feeds. The fact that he has learnt to trust humans again so soon after his rescue is nothing short of a miracle.

The team are working hard to rehabilitate this little lad so he will be able to find his forever home and be able to live the life he deserves.
