In May this year a group of intrepid fundraisers set off to walk 5 miles around Doncaster Lakeside in bare feet to raise funds for our Animal Centre and Animals Asia.

The Bearfoot Challenge is the brainchild of Daniel Farrell, who came up with the idea to turn bare foot walking into a great way to raise funds for charities in need.

Fortunately the weather was kind to them and they managed to complete the challenge (three laps of the lake) in 2 and a half hours. The team raised £600 in total, splitting this equally between RSPCA South Yorkshire Animal Centre and Animal Asia.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to Daniel, his wife Donna and the other fundraisers that joined them on the day as well as everyone who donated. The generous donation will help do much good for the animals in our care.

As a local, self-funded branch of the RSPCA we rely upon kind donations to help us carry out our work rehabilitating and rehoming animals. With the Animal Centre costing an average of £1500 a day operate every penny really does help. If able to, please help us to help them by donating to our appeal. You can donate below or you can also donate £5 by texting RSPCADRB to 70085. Thank you.
