How you can help Donate Give to an appeal Aftercare Appeal ** WARNING ** This post contains images which some may find distressing. Over the last couple of months, we have had a number of animals come into our care needing medical treatment, in particular, dogs with injured legs. You may remember our previous appeals for Rex (centre) and Barney (right). We are extremely grateful for the generous donations we received in relation to covering their surgery costs and can confirm that both dogs underwent successful surgery and are now in recovery. However, some don’t realise the costs associated with recovery – many animals require aftercare, for example frequent bandage changes which come at a cost. Barney’s aftercare has cost us over £600 so far and counting. More recently, Roxy (left) came into our care with a severely injured hind leg. Although she didn’t need to undergo an operation, she does require wound management which includes at least 2 dressing changes per day. Each dressing change costs us around £20 which may not seem like a lot but the costs soon add up. Roxy wears an inflatable collar to prevent her from licking/chewing her leg and therefore speed up her healing process. As a self-funded branch of the RSPCA, we are appealing to our supporters for help in covering aftercare costs. If you are able to, you can make a donation below or can text RSPCADRB to 70085 to donate £5. If you are unable to make a financial donation, you can help us by sharing this post with your friends. We greatly appreciate all donations, no matter the size, and all funds are put to good use to help provide a better future for the animals in our care. Thank you for your support.
