UPDATE 23/10/20:

🐶💙 Milo has been through his second ear canal ablation this week and is recovering well. He is feeling a little sorry for himself and under the weather after a minor infection. The antibiotics are doing their job and he should be back to his usual cuddly self in no time!
Thank you to all that donated to his appeal, we are so glad we have been able to get this little lad the help and treatment he desperately needed.

UPDATE 05/10/20:

Do you remember Milo? We posted him a few weeks ago as he arrived at the centre with severe bacterial infections in both ears and badly matted fur. Milo has become a firm favourite with staff and loves getting in the compound for a sniff around and a sofa cuddle.

In order to treat his ear infections, Milo was given a trial on strong antibiotics in the hope they would clear without surgery. This has not been the case. Milo’s condition has worsened and he needs surgery as soon as possible. He will be having a bilateral total ear canal ablation. This will be done in two stages beginning today and the remaining after a few weeks of initial recovery. The cost of an operation of this nature can reach in the £1000s.

With a second lockdown looming and uncertainty around the COVID 19 pandemic, this diagnosis is a massive blow to the centre but we are determined to not let Milo down like he has been before.

11/09/20: It has been another busy week here at the animal centre. Our new arrivals include little Milo. He has made his way to us after being found in a terrible state with matted fur and a severe bacterial ear infection. It is clear Milo has had a rough time and is currently on a long road to recovery. His ear infection is particularly aggressive and may potentially require major surgery if an improvement is not seen in the coming weeks.

Despite being let down by humans in the past, Milo is a gentle soul who is learning to trust again and is enjoying a few little extra treats and TLC from the team.
