We are delighted to announce that Defra has given approval for us to begin rehoming animals under new guidance. There will be a new temporary process in place to ensure the health and safety of the animal, adopters and our team and work within government guidance on COVID 19.

The guidance means that adopters will have to meet certain criteria to be able to complete the adoption process during this period. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Adopter must live 1 hour or less away from the animal centre.
  • Homechecks will take place via photo and video evidence and a call with one of our team will discuss the animal.
  • Paperwork will be completed via email (if you do not have access to the internet, please contact the centre).
  • Payment to be made via BACS or over the phone.
  • The animal will be brought to the adopter’s home by a member of our animal care team.

Dogs, cats and rabbits will be sent home with a starter pack with items such as food, toys, collar, leads and harnesses as an alternative to the shop voucher we normally offer. You will be asked if you want to purchase additional food or items such as beds, scratch posts etc. as part of the process. This will be delivered to you on adoption day.

As always, we will be taking necessary steps to ensure the animal being adopted is a suitable match to the potential household. The welfare of our animals continues to be our main focus.

For those that have already been confirmed as the first expression of interest on an animal, we will be contacting you to advise the next steps.

Our animals for adoption pages are updated regularly so please keep a look out for that special pet. We are currently receiving high call and email numbers applying to register interest in our animals. Therefore, if you do not receive a response within 48 hours, please assume you have been unsuccessful for that particular animal at this time.

Restarting adoptions means we are able to free up vital space and can begin to rehabilitate and rehome more animals in our area. As always, thank you for your continued support.
